Putting up more sheetrock
We got the rest of the sheetrock up in the dining area. Well, almost. We still have to build out the short wall in front of the cement and put cement board on that. There will be a 3’ wide stair (two steps) and the rest will be tiled to match the area behind the wood stove. There will be a railing on the upper level in that area, to keep people from falling off into the wood stove, that would probably be a bad thing . . .
We even got the cat door installed in the hallway. This is for the cats to get into the laundry room, and down into the basement where the food and litter boxes are. We didn’t want to cut a hole in the door (6 panel) so we made a tunnel through the closet and into the hall.

Here’s the hall, all covered with sheetrock.

And the dining room, looking from the living room. I can start taping any time I want (oh joy).

And in case any one wonders, the door way to the bathroom is not cut at full height. We’re not sure how high up we have to put the door, so left the sheetrock long for now.
Next we can build the wall dividing the living room and the closet. And then get the sheetrock put up in there. At least the sheetrock pile is going down.
We also got the shower moved into the laundry room. Had to take it down into the stair well, through the doorway, tip in on its front and then lift it up on its base. Now it’s a lot closer to its final spot. This is the shower my hubby picked out, so at least he didn’t complain about having to move it around.

Even the cats got some work done today, well, Gizmo did.
